"A Teamster's View- More and Different" by the late Steve Bowers- this is a very analytical and clear study of the whys and wherefores of a lot of English and American harnessing and driving methods (relating to heavy horses) and which work better, and which popular ways are a lot less effective. It explains a lot of what to many ausises are 'weird' harnessing ideas used in USA, and which ones Steve also is not keen upon.

"Farming With Horses" by the Steve Bowers and Marlen Steward- this 158-page full colour American book is a pictorial of how to harness up, drive and work horses with american- style harness, but the principles and precautions offered, as well as clear pictures are very helpful, if you are a beginner. The terminology is very 'yankee' rather than 'aussie' but it is still a good book!
