The 'major' Clydesdale Show in Queensland is considered to be the Royal Queensland Show, also known as Brisbane Royal, the RNA, the Exhibition, or the Ekkas, held in the second week of August each year.
Except for a short period during World War 2, Clydesdales have been shown there continually throughout the 1900s and into the 2000s.Brisbane Royal Show Results
The next most popular shows for heavy horses are three- in chronological order they are
1. The Clydesdale & Heavy Horse Field Days, colloquially called the Gatton Heavy Horse Field Days, on the weekend prior to the first Monday in May, at the Gatton Showgrounds.
2. The CCHS Qld Branch Junior Championships, colloquially called the Foal Show, on the first weekend in June, at Boonah or Kalbar Showgrounds.
3. The Working Draught Horse Expo, colloquially called just 'Jondaryan' , being held over the June Queen's Birthday long weekend, at Jondaryan Woolshed, just west of Toowoomba.
Most local agricultural shows in southern Qld ald have classed for heavy horses, or for clydesdales specifically.
